  • David Anderson was the son of Marcus (“Mark”) Anderson and wife, Easter (nee Lacy) Anderson. David enlisted in the military in Groesbeck, Texas on November 1, 1917. He served as a Private in WWI. He received a medical discharge on December 28, 1917. David passed away on March 2, 1947.

  • Easter (nee Lacy) Anderson was born in January 1855 in Anderson County, Texas. She was the daughter of Charley Lacey and wife, Millie Lacey. She married Marcus (“Mark”) Anderson and to their union six (6) children were born. Easter passed away on April 27, 1921.

  • Marcus (“Mark”) Anderson was born in January 1853 in Tennessee. He was the Hon of Ellen Foster. He married Easter (nee Lacy), the daughter of Charlie Lacey, Sr. and wife, Millie Lacey. Mark passed away on February 21, 1921.

  • Dave “(Davey”) Belcher was born abt. 1862 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Joe Belcher (b. abt. 1806 in Louisiana) and wife, Sarah Belcher (b. abt. 1820 in Alabama). Dave was a widower at the time of his passing on February 11, 1927 in Ellis County, Texas. His brother, Nelson, attested to the facts on Dave’s death certificate.

  • Lois (nee Johnson) Belcher was the daughter of Dave Johnson and Carrilla Freeman. She was the wife of F.B. Belcher. She passed away on May, 1, 1943.

  • Ezekial Carroll was born on May 4, 1882 in Limestone County. He was the son of Sy Carroll and Francis (“Sis”) Cotton. Ezekial passed away on April 27, 1921.

  • Frances (nee Medlock) Carroll was born on May 14, 1904 in Limestone County. She was the daughter of Andrew ("Andy") Medlock and wife, Dollie (nee Dancer) Medlock. She married Ezekial Carroll. Frances passed away on January 12, 1936.

  • Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Conner was born on April 15, 1896 to Sim Conner, Sr. and wife, Rachel (nee Medlock) Conner. Ben passed away on March 4, 1926.

  • Candis D. Conner was born on September 1, 1917. She was the infant daughter of Farris Loan Conner, Sr. and wife, Sallie (nee Anglin) Conner. Baby Candis was named for her paternal grandmother, Candis (nee Tolbert) Conner. Baby Candis passed away on November 18, 1918 in Limestone County.

  • Candis (nee Tolbert) Conner was the daughter of a former enslaved woman named Harriett Tolbert who escaped a Texas slave plantation at about age 15 to ensure that Candis and her infant sister, Azilee, would not become enslaved. Harriett settled into Limestone County and became a housekeeper on the Stroud Plantation where Candis would meet her future husband, Warren Conner (the first). As such, Candis was present for the reading of The Emancipation Proclamation on the Stroud Plantation on June 19, 1865. Candis was rumored to have been fathered by her mother's alleged slave holder, Matthew Talbot. Candis passed away on November 7, 1930 in Limestone County.

  • Cass Conner was born in 1893. He was the son of Sim Conner, Sr. and wife, Rachel (nee Medlock) Conner. Cass was named for his father's older brother, Cass Conner, who married Azilee (nee Tolbert) Conner. Cass passed away on November 2, 1914.

  • Rachel (nee Medlock) Conner was born in 1861 in Leon County, Texas. She was the daughter of The Honorable David Medlock, Jr. and wife, Elvia (nee Echols) Medlock. Rachel married Sim Conner, Sr. in February of 1883. Rachel passed away on June 23, 1936.

  • S.T. Lemuel was the daughter of Hood Lemuel and wife, Mary. She married Alfred Conner, son on Sim Conner, Sr. and wife, Rachel (nee Medlock) Conner. S.T. passed away on August 10, 1927.

  • Sam Conner was the son of Sim Conner, Sr. & Rachel (Medlock) Conner. Sam enlisted in the military on July 18, 1898 and was Honorably discharged on August 29, 1919. He passed away on April 16, 1937.

  • Sim Conner, Sr. was born in 1858 to Alfred Conner (1820 - 1892) and wife, Eliza (nee Walker) Conner (d. bef. 1870) in Limestone County, Texas. Sim united in marriage to Rachel Medlock on January 29, 1883 in Limestone County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Betsy Aker on December 12, 1940 at age 82. Sim passed away on September 26, 1943.

  • Taylor Conner was the son of Warren Conner and wife, Candis (nee Tolbert) Conner. Taylor was married to Maria (maiden unknown). Taylor passed away on November 6, 1935.

  • Warren Conner (the first) was a formerly enslaved man on the Pleasant Retreat Plantation in Groesbeck, Texas. Warren was the son of Alfred Conner (1820 - 1892) and his wife, Eliza (nee Walker) Conner (d. bef. 1870).

    In 1898, Warren and his wife Candis (nee Tolbert) Conner donated the land for the Booker T. Emancipation Park at Comanche Crossing. Warren passed away on October 22, 1922.

  • Bert Cook was the son of Will (Sellers) Cook and wife, Talitha ("Litha") (nee Medlock) Cook.

  • David (“Dave”) Cook was born with the name “David Sellers” in 1859 in Freestone County, Texas. He was the son of William Sellers (b. 1820) and wife, Dinah Sellers (1824 - 1994). By the 1900 U.S. Census, William and Dinah’s children had changed their surname to “Cook”. Dave married Amie Cox in 1880. After Amie apparently passed away, Dave married Adeline Medlock in 1894. Dave passed away on October 25, 1953 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Revenue Cook was born on December 12, 1895 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Will (Sellers) Cook and wife, Talitha ("Litha") (nee Medlock) Cook. Revenue passed away on June 12, 1919.

  • Talitha (nee Medlock) Cook was born in 1869 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of The Honorable David Medlock Jr. of Texas and his wife, Elvia (nee Echols) Medlock. She was the step-daughter of Frances (Nee Echols) Cotton Medlock. Talitha married Will Cook, son of William Sellers and wife, Dinah Sellers. Talitha passed away on April 25, 1913.

  • Will (Sellers) Cook was born in 1869 in Freestone County, Texas. He was the son of Dave (Sellers) Cook and wife, Dinah Sellers. Will passed away on February 26, 1912 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Alexander (or "Elexander") Cotton was born in 1885 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Jesse Cotton and Louisa Pinkard. He passed away February 24, 1913.

  • B.E. Cotton was the son of Jesse Cotton and wife, Lela (Jones) Cotton.

  • Burk Simpson Cotton was born on February 17, 1911. He was the son of Jesse Cotton and wife, Lela (nee Jones) Cotton. Burk was named for his maternal grand uncle (his grandmother's brother) Burk Simpson. Burk passed away on September 9, 1935.

  • Francis Cotton was born August 16, 1900. She was the daughter of Jesse Cotton and wife, Lela (Jones) Cotton. She apparently married Edward Brown (b. 1900) who was a WWI veteran. Although Edward survived his deployment overseas, Francis was noted as having been widowed at the time of her death on November 25, 1924.

  • Infant son of Jesse Cotton and wife, Lela (nee Jones) Cotton who passed away 10 days after he was born.

  • Lela (nee Jones) Cotton was born on August 13, 1884 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Frank Jones and Caroline (nee Simpson) Jones. She passed away November 13, 1952.

  • Jesse Cotton was born in 1863 in Leon County, Texas. He was the son of Columbus ("Lum") Cotton and wife, Frances (nee Echols) (Cotton) Medlock. Jesse passed away on October 1, 1924.

  • Rice Cotton was the son of Jesse Cotton and wife, Lela (nee Jones) Cotton.

  • Paul Dancer was born on June 1, 1869 to Charlie Dancer and wife, Janie Murphy. Paul was married to Katie (nee Conner) Dancer, daughter of Cass Conner and Azilee (nee Tolbert) Conner. Paul passed away on October 12, 1942.

  • Pricilla Ann Dancer was born in 1869 and died in 1915. The 1870 and 1880 Census appears to show a female named "Puss Dancer" in the household of King Dancer and his wife, Elvira Dancer. The age of the child suggest that Precilla and "Puss" Dancer are one in the same.

  • Grace May Dixon was born in August 1926. She was the infant child of Hollie Dixon, who was born in Pittsburg, Camp County, Texas, and Angeline Pinkard of Limestone County, Texas. Grace passed away on July 9, 1928.

  • Eliza (nee Freeman) Echols was born November 29, 1865 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Johnny Sr. Freeman and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. Eliza married Green Berry Sr. Echols. Eliza passed away on July 19, 1890.

  • Solomon Echols was born on February 2, 1880. He was the son of Albert Echols and Sarah (nee Freeman) Pinkard. Sol passed away on May 1, 1920.

  • Carol (nee Medlock) Evans was born on January 29, 1904. She was the daughter of Giles Medlock and Viola Cole. Carol married Filmore Evans. Carol passed away on March 9, 1939.

  • Per the 1880 U.S. Census, Sarah J. Farris was the wife of Elijah Farris and the daughter in law of Viney Currier. Elijah Farris was born abt. 1824 in Louisiana. His first wife was named Jane (b. abt. 1845). After Sarah passed away, Elijah married Bell Peoples on 15 December 1886. Elijah may have passed away between December 1886 and September 1889, as Bell (Peoples) Farris married Lou Peters on September 24, 1889. Elijah’s estate was admitted for probate, however, on October 28, 1909 per the Mexia Daily News.

    Sarah parentage has not been determined at the time of this writing. She passed away on July 5, 1886.

  • Johnny Freeman was born in June 1868 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the John Freeman and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. Johnny was married to Carilla (nee Burns) Freeman. Johnny passed away on January 23, 1918.

  • Adam Gibbs was born on March 1, 1875. Adam was the son of Nancy Gibbs of Houston, Texas. Adam Gibbs married Delilah ("Lila") (need Cook) Gibbs. Adam passed away on September 19, 1943.

  • Sallie Holiday was born in 1877 in South Carolina. She was a widow at the time of her death and little is known about her husband’s name or her family. The witness to her death was Daniel Holiday who was apparently born in Falls County, Texas, however his relation to Sallie remains unknown. Sallie passed away in August 7, 1920 in Limestone County.

  • Nancy (nee Medlock) Jacobs was born on September 5, 1890 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Dave W. Medlock and wife, Ella Jane (nee Barton) Medlock. She married Willie Jacobs in 1939. Nancy passed away on September 3, 1974 in Limestone County.

  • Cora Johnson was born on July 7, 1896. She was the daughter of J.D. Johnson and wife, Mary (nee Medlock) Johnson. Cora passed away on May 25, 1916 in Limestone County.

  • Dinah (nee Cook) Johnson was born in January 1883 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Dave (Sellers) Cook (b. 1861) and wife, Amy (nee Cox) Cook. Dinah was the grand daughter of William ("Billy") Sellers (b. 1820 in NC) and wife, Dinah Sellers (b. 1825 in VA). The family appears to have changed their surname from "Sellers" to Cook sometime between the years 1880 and 1900. Dinah passed away in 1954 in Limestone County.

  • Elvira (nee Pinkard) Johnson was born on July 30, 1890. She was the daughter of John Pinkard and wife, Pinkie (nee Dancer) Pinkard. Elvira, named for her mother's mother, was also a grand daughter of U.S. Civil War soldier (Colored Troop) Warren Pinkard. She married Seabe Johnson, son of Dick Johnson, in 1905. Elvira passed away on July 25, 1943 in Limestone County.

  • Emily (nee Tucker) Johnson was born on January 1, 1861. She was the daughter of Jane Tucker. She was also the sister of Tom Tucker. Emily married Nathan ("Nath") Johnson on February 6, 1886 in Limestone County, Texas. Emily passed away on December 25, 1925 in Limestone County.

  • Emma was born March 22, 1907 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Seabe Johnson and wife, Elvira (nee Pinkard) Johnson. Emma passed away on June 28, 1941.

  • Guthrie Johnson was born on September 26, 1902. She was the daughter of J.D. Johnson and wife, Mary (nee Medlock) Johnson. Guthrie passed away on February 21, 1929.

  • J.D. Johnson was the son of Charlie Johnson. Very little is known about his mother. J.D. married Mary Medlock, daughter of Andy Medlock and wife, Dollie (nee Dancer) Medlock. J.D. passed away April 12, 1941 in Limestone County.

  • Mary (nee Medlock) Johnson was born March 11, 1878 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andy Medlock and wife, Dolly (nee Dancer) Medlock. Mary was also the granddaughter of The Honorable David Medlock II & wife, Elvia (nee Echols) Medlock. Mary was the wife of J.D. Johnson. Mary passed away on February 26, 1940 in Limestone County.

  • Nathan ("Nath") Johnson was born in July 1858 in Leon County, Texas. He was the son of Richard Johnson and wife, Rebecca ("Beckie") (nee Medlock) Johnson. Nathan was a grandson of The Honorable David Medlock II and wife, Elvia ("Elvey") (nee Echols) Medlock. he passed away July 9, 1943.

  • Laura (nee Carruthers) Kelley (per family sources) was born in December 1867. She was the daughter of Frank Drake (per her death certificate). Laura was the wife of Taylor Kelley of Mexia, Texas. Laura passed away on May 9, 1917.

  • Martha (nee Pinkard) Kelley was born in March 1857 in Arkansas where the Pinkard family was kept during the period of enslavement. Martha was the daughter of U.S. Civil War soldier (Colored Troop) Winkfield Pinkard and wife, Hanna D. (nee Walker) Pinkard. She married Zachariah Kelley. Martha passed away on January 28, 1918 in Limestone County.

  • Taylor Kelley was born on January 15, 1852 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Chance Kelley and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. Taylor married Laura Drake. He passed away on May 30, 1929 in Dallas, Texas.

  • Zach Kelley was born in May 1847 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Chance Kelley and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. He passed away on January 17, 1912 in Limestone County. His death certificate reads that he was buried in the "Cedar Creek Cemetery".

  • Zeno Kelley was born in May 1851 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Chance Kelley and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. He passed away on September 9, 1912 in Limestone County. His death certificate indicates he was buried in the “Cidar Creek Cemetery”.

  • Millie Lacey was born about 1824 in Tennessee per the 1870 U.S. Census. Her headstone states February of 1831. She was the wife of Charley Lacey, Sr. and the mother of Easter, Charles Jr., Frank, Jack, George, Lee ("Robert Lee"), and James. Millie was also the mother of Reverend D.C. Lacey (David C. Lacey), the first Black school teacher in Mexia. Millie passed away in November 1908.

  • Reverend D.C. Lacy (David C. Lacy) was born in 1858 in Texas. He was the son of Charley Lacey, Sr. and wife, Millie Lacey. Reverend D.C. Lacy was one of the first Black teachers in the ex-enslaved Black community in the area of present day Mexia. He was also the first minister at the Rocky Crossing Methodist Church. D.C. Lacy passed away on December 25, 1924 in Austin, Texas.

  • Sylvester Long was born in 1864 in Georgia. Information about his parents is unknown at this time. On October 14, 1897, Sylvester married Laura Moseley in Limestone County, Texas. The couple welcomed five daughters: Rosina, Bernice, Lila, Asiline, and Betty. Sylvester passed away on April 29, 1913.

  • Mary (nee Cook) McGuire was born abt. 1907 in Limestone County, Texas. Mary was daughter of Will Cook and wife, Talitha ("Litha") (nee Medlock) Cook. She married W.H. McGuire in 1923. Mary passed away on September 21, 1931 in Limestone County.

  • Darfus McMillan (or McMillian) as born on June 17, 1909 in Limestone County, Texas. No records have been found about the parentage of this infant. However, the date of death suggests this was the infant child of Jessie McMillan and wife, Helen (nee Medlock) McMillan. Darfus passed away on November 20, 1909.

  • Helen (nee Medlock) McMillan (or McMillian) was born on November 14, 1884 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andy Medlock and wife, Delia Medlock. Helen married Jesse McMillan on August 20, 1900. Helen passed away on November 12, 1909 in Limestone County.

  • Albert Medlock was born on November 2, 1897 in Limestone County, Texas. Albert was the son of David W. Medlock (b. abt. 1866) and Ella J. (nee Barton) Medlock. Albert served as a Private in the military during World War I. Albert passed away on October 31, 1960 in Limestone County.

  • Amelia (Cotton) Medlock was born in 1844 in Robertson County, Texas. She was the daughter of The Honorable Giles (Silas) Cotton and Eliza McClendon.

    Before Emancipation, Amelia has one son, Green B. Echols, with Zeno (“Bouch” Echols, Sr., son of George Echols (b. 1802) and wife, Sarah (b. 1805).

    After Emancipation, Amelia married John Medlock, Sr., the twin of David Medlock, Jr., as well as the son of David ("Grandpa Davey") Medlock, Sr. and wife, Betty. Amelia passed away on September 8, 1928 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Andrew "Andy" Medlock was born in 1852 in Texas. He was the son of The Honorable David Medlock, Jr. and wife, Elvia ( nee Echols) Medlock. Andy passed away on August 29, 1914 in Limestone County.

  • Caroline was born in 1900 in Limestone County. She was the daughter of David W. Medlock and Ella (nee Barton). She passed away on April 7, 1923.

  • Delbert was born on May 14, 1901 in Limestone County. He was the son of David W. Medlock and wife, Ella (nee Barton) Medlock. David passed away on July 30, 1928 in Limestone County.

  • Dollie (Dancer) Medlock was born in 1895 in Limestone County. She was the daughter of Charlie Dancer and wife, Janie (nee Murphy) Dancer. Dollie was married to Andrew (“Andy”) Medlock. She passed away on September 7, 1920 in Limestone County.

  • Ella was born on August 18, 1869 in Limestone County per the 1870 U.S. Census. She was the daughter of Mack Barton (b. 1835 in TN) and Nancy Baker (b. 1849 in North Carolina). Ella married David W. Medlock. She passed away on January 20, 1948.

  • Frances (nee Echols) (Cotton) Medlock was born in 1827 in Georgia. She was the daughter of George Echols (b. 1802 - d. bef. 1880) & Sarah Echols (b, 1805 - d. bef. 1900). She was united with Columbus ("Lum") Cotton, Sr. during the period of enslavement.

    Columbus and Frances split after the announcement of Emancipation on June 19, 1865. In about 1872/1873, Frances married The Honorable David Medlock, Jr., a Reconstruction Era legislator who represented Limestone County in the 12th Texas Legislature which met from 1870 to 1873. Frances passed away on July 19, 1937.

  • Giles Medlock was born June 16, 1873 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Eli Medlock, Sr. and Lucy (nee Belcher) Medlock. Giles passed away on December 11, 1913 in Limestone County.

  • Hickory (nee Cotton) Medlock was born in August 1884. She was the daughter of Columbus (“Lum”) Cotton, Sr. and wife, Hagar (nee Conner) Cotton. Hickory was apparently named for her paternal uncle, Hickory Cotton, of Robertson County, Texas. Hickory, the niece, married May Medlock, The son of Grandbury and Martha (nee Melton)(Medlock0 Pinkard. Hickory passed away on April 18, 1928 in Limestone County.

  • James D. Medlock was born in 1878 in Limestone County. He was the son of The Honorable David Medlock, Jr. and second wife, Frances (nee Echols) (Cotton) Medlock. James passed away on December 21, 1930.

  • Laura (nee Foster) Medlock was born about January 1860 in Texas. She was the daughter of Ellen (nee Anderson) Foster. Laura married Sam Medlock in 1875. Laura passed away on January 11, 1943.

  • N. E. Martha Medlock was born on April 28, 1922 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of May Medlock and wife, Hickory (nee Cotton) Medlock. Martha passed away on February 25, 1934.

  • Nora (nee Pinkard) Medlock was born in August 1889 in Limestone County. She was the daughter of Louis Pinkard & wife, Amelia (nee Simmons) Pinkard. The 1900 U.S. Census notes that Nora was 11 years old at the taking of the census. Nora was also the grand daughter of Warren Pinkard who served in the U.S. Colored Troops in Arkansas during the U.S. Civil War. Nora married Sam Medlock, son of Grandbury & Martha (nee Melton) Medlock, in 1907. Nora passed away on January 25, 1919.

  • Ruthford B. Medlock was born on February 26, 1877 in Limestone County, Texas. He death certificate states he was the son of John Medlock and Virginia Robertson. Ruthford passed away on October 25, 1939 in Limestone County.

  • Sam Medlock was born in 1855 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of John Medlock, Sr. and Mary (Cotton) Hogan. Sam on December 24 1930 in Limestone County.

  • Maude Ester Moore was born in April 1899 in Texas. She was daughter of Reverend Turner S. Moore and wife, Letha (nee Kirkpatrick) Moore of Falls County, Texas. Maude Ester was also an ex-student at Samuel Huston College (now Huston-Tillotson College) in Austin, Texas. Maude Ester passed away on September 8, 1919 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Beulah Mae (nee Conner) Nelson was born on December 2, 1913. She was the daughter of Farris Loan Conner, Sr. and wife, Sallie E. (nee Anglin) Conner. Beulah passed away on March 13, 1944 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Benjamin Frank Pinkard was born in 1852 in Arkansas. Benjamin Frank was the son of Bucket ("Buck") Pinkard and wife, Betsey Pinkard. He married Sallie (nee Taylor) Pinkard. Benjamin Frank passed away on April 2, 1930.

  • Berryman Lee ("Lee") Pinkard was born in 1853 in Arkansas. He was the son of U.S. Civil War (Union) soldier Winkfield Pinkard and his wife, Hanna D. (nee Walker) Pinkard. He married Mary Edna (nee Kelley) Pinkard.

    Lee was farmer and community leader in the Mexia area. He has been credited with organizing a group of people to celebrate the Nineteenth of June in Limestone County. Lee also copied documents that helped lay the foundation for the establishment of the Limestone County Nineteenth of June Organization. Lee Pinkard passed away on April 6, 1921.

  • Daniel Pinkard was born in December 1878 in Limestone County,Texas. He was the son of Lorenzo ("Rans") Pinkard (born in Randolph County, Alabama) & wife, Adaline (nee Medlock) Pinkard. Daniel passed away on February 14, 1911 in Limestone County.

  • Mable Pinkard was born on December 24, 1918. She was the daughter of Robert Pinkard and Myrtle Alexander. Mable passed away on January 5, 1919.

  • Martha (Melton) Pinkard was born on August 19, 1861 in Limestone County, Texas. She was first married to Grandbury Medlock, son of Martha Medlock and grandson of David (“Grandpa Davey”) Medlock, Sr. After Grandbury passed away, Martha married another widower, Albert Pinkard. Martha passed away on March 8, 1939.

  • Mary Edna (Kelley) Pinkard was born in 1854 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Chance Kelley and wife, Caroline (Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. Mary Edna married Berryman Lee (“Lee”) Pinkard. Mary Edna passed away on May 20, 1914.

  • Sallie (nee Taylor) Pinkard was born in 1865 in Kosse, Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of David Taylor (b. 1818) and wife, Betsey Taylor. She married Benjamin Frank (“Frank”) Pinkard. She passed away on January 17, 1918 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Sarah (nee Freeman) Pinkard was born in 1863 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of John Freeman and wife, Caroline (nee Conner) (Kelley) Freeman. She married Dock Pinkard (1856 in Arkansas - d. 1931 in Limestone County) in 1885. Sarah passed away on August 9, 1936 in Limestone County.

  • Bettie M. (nee Johnson) Sanders was born in 1858 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Dick Johnson and wife, Martha (nee Dancer) Johnson. Bettie married Jonah Sanders, Sr. of Limestone County, Texas. Bettie passed away on April 15, 1941 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Dock Sanders was born on March 18, 1906 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Wyatt Sanders and wife, Luetisha Sanders. Dock passed away during surgery while incarcerated in Huntsville, Texas on October 15, 1939.

  • Jonah Sr. Sanders was born in 1860 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of John Sanders and wife, Everlene (nee Davis) Sanders. Jonah Sr. married Bettie M. (nee Johnson) Sanders. Jonah, Sr. passed away on February 29, 1944 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Dinah Sellers was the wife of William Sellers (b. 1820 in NC). William and Dinah lived in Freestone County, Texas prior to moving to neighboring Limestone County. The 1870 U.S. Census shows the family living together in Limestone County. The 1880 U.S. Census shows Dinah living with her husband William and 6 children in Limestone County. By 1900, the available records and the headstone indicating that Dinah had passed away.

  • The infant girl was born on June 23, 1926. She was the daughter of Choula Simmons and wife, Moncessor M. Simmons. The baby passed away October 18, 1926.

  • Elvia (nee Medlock) Taylor was born in April 1882 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Andy Medlock and wife, Dollie (nee Dancer) Medlock. Elvia married Scott Taylor. Elvia passed away on September 24, 1934.

  • Mary (nee Medlock) Tucker was born on August 11, 1899 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Eli Medlock, Sr. and partner, Lucy (Belcher) Randall. Mary passed away on February 1, 1936 in Limestone County.

  • Mary Marshall (Cotton) Tucker was born on February 16, 1886 in Limestone County, Texas. She was the daughter of Columbus Cotton and wife, Hagar (nee Conner) Cotton. Mary Marshall married Rev. Dee Tucker. Mary Marshall passed away on May 10, 1918 in Limestone County.

  • Pvt. Andy Jr. Watts was born on September 23, 1893 in Limestone County, Texas. He was the son of Andy Sr. & Bobbie (nee Livingston) Watts. Andy Jr. served in Private in the military. Andy Jr. was married to Nacy (nee Johnson) Watts. Andy Jr. passed away on January13, 1943 in Limestone County.

  • Ada was born on September 18, 1893. She was the daughter of Frank Pinkard and Sallie (nee Taylor) Pinkard. Ada passed away September 9, 1929 in Limestone County, Texas.

  • Amie (Conner) Williams was born in 1842 in Robertson County, Texas. She was the daughter of Alfred Conner (1820 - 1892) and wife, Eliza (nee Walker) Conner (d. bef. 1870). Amie married Andrew W. ("Andy") Williams (b. abt. 1834), the son of Andy Sr. Williams (b. abt. 1812 in GA) and wife, Delilah Williams (d. bef. 1870).

    Amie was present for the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation on June 19, 1865 on the Stroud Plantation. After Emancipation, her husband Andrew W. Williams was a member of Texas Governor Edmund J. Davis' police force during Reconstruction. Andrew continued to serve in law enforcement as a constable.
